One Story at a Time
Moroccan oral storytelling traces back over a thousand years, passing down moral lessons from generation to generation, family to family. Today, this traditional art is being marginalized by a globalizing world, so Mehdi El Gahly and Jawad Elbeid founded Hikayat Morocco as a way to preserve the art by training a new generation of storytellers. To find out more about how to help, please visit http://hikayatmorocco.weebly.com/about-hikayat.html This video was produced on location by an Actuality Media student crew, produced in conjunction with COMH 212: Social Justice Communication, a travel course led by Dr. Christopher Boulton at the University of Tampa - cboulton.weebly.com/travel.html Producer: Kevin O'Hare Director: Nathan Legger Cinematographer: Andrea Fowler Editor: Tim Cross Assistant Editor: Kevin O'Hare Sound Technician: Andrea Fowler Sound Technician: Tim Cross Actuality Media is on the ground with every student crew to oversee production of these short documentaries, providing the services of executive producer, production manager, location scout, additional editing, and whatever else is needed to complete the project. As Cecille sits in an airport terminal reading Gone Girl, she comes in contact with a young Natasha. This girl is so excited to finally be flying out of the country. The question is: where will she be going? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a new short film directed by yours truly. It was written for an international film scholarship regarding global women's issues. With these films we are trying to put a face and a story to the taboo subjects no one wants to talk about, but which we must address. Please show your support.
